Sing Live Visit to Sorrento! 5 Night Trip - Wednesday 28th March to Monday 2nd April 2012 or We continue our ‘Grand Tour of Italy’ with a visit to beautiful Sorrento in Southern Italy. A picturesque gem on the Amalfi coast, over-looking the bay of Naples with views of Mount Vesuvius, and the home of Limoncello!
We will be singing in Amalfi, Sorrento and Ravello. At this time we are unable to bring you confirmed details of the venues, but in order to secure flights and our hotel we are putting out a first application as we know there are many of you out there who simply want to go because it’s Sorrento! We are offering five and seven night packages with four star accommodation at the Hilton Sorrento Palace Hotel, with flights from Liverpool or Stansted. The trip is open to our existing singers, new singers, families and friends.
Steve Roberts will be the Musical Director and where possible the rehearsals will be taken by him. The first and last rehearsal will be in the Leeds area. The middle two will be arranged depending on the location of the participants. The rehearsal dates are as follows:- Saturday 4th February, Sunday 19th February, Sunday 11th March and Sunday 25th March. There will also be music and a rehearsal CD for you to work on at home. The rehearsal and performance fee will be £110 including VAT. Application forms will be sent to all singers in November.
Flights We are currently only offering packages inclusive of flights. This is for two reasons – Sorrento is 1.5 hours from Naples airport, so transfers are expensive for individual travellers and if we all travel on the same flights we keep the costs low. Secondly, we wish to include the ATOL backing through Co-operative Personal Travel Advisors (Number 5704). However, if there anyone is wanting to stay on in Italy or go earlier please let us know and we can arrange this, (as an exception!) We may open it up at a later date for people wanting to book their own flights. If this happens all accommodation must be booked through us, and there can be no exceptions to this. As always we want the fun of travelling together as a group and we will do the ‘thinking for you!” Our package includes accommodation, flights and transfers to and from the airport in Naples. Your contract for the full package will be with Co-operative Personal Travel Advisors ATOL (Number 5704). However, all the paperwork, queries and correspondence will be dealt with by Sing Live, so please ensure you direct your questions to us and forward to us all your paperwork and payments (made out to Co-operative Personal Travel Advisors). Please read the booking form carefully regarding the flights. For all initial bookings the price will be as quoted. However, if demand is high we cannot guarantee the flight prices will remain as quoted to us and the package price may increase. The later you book the more likely this is to happen! We have therefore given you the option on the booking form to indicate whether you still want to go if the price increases. You have the option to choose how much extra you are prepared to pay if necessary. The flights will be booked in blocks once we have sufficient numbers. The flights we book include a fee for ATOL to give you protection. However, please make sure you purchase comprehensive travel insurance cover. Accommodation We are staying at the Hilton Sorrento Palace Hotel, overlooking the city of Sorrento, the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. It is situated just five minutes away from the historical centre of Sorrento and ideally placed for us to visit the Island of Capri, the spectacular Amalfi Coast – Positano, Amalfi and Ravello and the open air museums of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Our accommodation will be on a bed and full American breakfast basis! Transfers There will be return transfers included from the hotel to all of the venues where we are singing. Return transport to and from the airport in Naples to the hotel is included, based on a minimum of 25 people per flight on the 5 and 7 night package. (A supplement will apply if the minimum is not reached and will be added on to your final invoice) Optional Excursions We will be offering a number of optional excursions. Full details of these will be sent to you once we have confirmed numbers for the trip. Booking Form The booking form gives you all the options and all the details. Please read it carefully and make sure you complete the correct section based on your requirements together with the sections which apply to everyone. Please fill in one form per room and note all correspondence will be addressed to the lead name only. Please note all singing applications will also be sent to the lead name. Please ensure you supply us with an up to date e-mail address so that we can correspond as much as possible through e-mail for this trip. We began our ‘grand Italian tour’ in Rome in April 2009, moved on to Venice in April 2010, returned to Rome in October 2010 and our latest visit was to Florence in March 2011. We are delighted to add Sorrento to our adventures and have had many requests to visit this wonderful part of Italy.
