Sing Live presents

Singing Day on Saturday 28th August 2010
at Civic Hall Stratford-upon-Avon

We are now recruiting singers for the above Singing Day and look forward to another exciting adventure.

Welcome to anyone new looking to join us for the first time, you are in for a treat!

The Requiem by Karl Jenkins was first recorded and performed in 2005 and was premièred at Southwark Cathedral.

In this work, Jenkins interjects movements featuring Japanese poems in the form of a haiku with those traditionally encountered in a Requiem Mass. At times, the Latin text is sung below the text of the haiku.

Building on the success of last years singing day which explored The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace, also by Jenkins, this day will prove to be as exciting and moving as last year.

The work will provide another great insight into the music of perhaps one of the most widely played composers on Classic FM and be enjoyable aswell as rewarding. Steve Roberts is looking forward to working with our singers and in the splendid surroundings of Stratford Upon Avon.

Anyone can attend, so make sure you tell all your family and friends. The cost per singer is £20.00 (including £2.98 VAT). Music is provided but please bring your own lunch and tea, we expect demand to be high so apply early!
