Milan 2012 3 Night Trip – Friday 5th October to Monday 8th October 2012 A wonderful visit to glamorous Milan in October including singing in the magnificent Gothic Milan Cathedral and the historic Coro di San Maurizio. Milan is one of the richest cities in Europe and one of the most fashionable in Italy, recognised as a world fashion and design capital and famous for shopping. It has a thriving cultural scene, and its artistic and historic attractions include the Last Supper painting by Leonardo da Vinci and the famous La Scala Opera House. The famous cathedral is the largest Gothic cathedral in the world! This trip is a three or four night package with four star accommodation at the Hilton Milan with flights from Manchester, Birmingham and Heathrow, there is also an option to fly from Leeds Bradford for the three night option. The trip is open to our existing singers, new singers, families and friends.
Steve Roberts will be the Musical Director and where possible the rehearsals will be taken by him. The first and last rehearsal will be in the Leeds area. The middle two will be arranged depending on the location of the participants. The rehearsal dates are as follows:- Sunday 19 August, Saturday 1 September, Saturday 8 September and Sunday 23 September 2012. There will also be music and a rehearsal CD for you to work on at home. The rehearsal and performance fee will be £110 including VAT. Application forms will be sent to all singers in June. Steve is currently considering the musical content and we will let you know as soon as everything is agreed, but there will be approximately ten pieces of music. We will be travelling in tour gear to make the group as visible as possible and promote the group, and to help our crew and the ground agents to recognise the group. It will be compulsory for all participants to wear an item of tour gear on the outward and return plane journeys to help our flight monitors. For our performances we will wear black performance t-shirts - black with a gold logo on the front, with black trousers, black socks and black shoes. The Package Flights The three night package includes flights from Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Birmingham or Heathrow. Please note there are limited places on the Manchester 3 night flight and they will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The four night package includes flights from Manchester, Birmingham or Heathrow. Please note there are limited places on the Birmingham 4 night flight and they will be allocated on a first come first served basis. However, if there anyone is wanting to stay on in Italy or go earlier please let us know and we can arrange this, (as an exception!) The package includes four star accommodation, flights and transfers to and from the airport in Milan. The contract for the full package will be with Co-operative Personal Travel Advisors ATOL Number 5704. Please ensure you direct your questions to us and forward to us all your paperwork and payments made out to Co-operative Personal Travel Advisors. ATOL backing is through Co-operative Personal Travel Advisors Number 5704. Please read the booking form carefully regarding the flights. For all initial bookings the price will be as quoted. However, if demand is high we cannot guarantee the flight prices will remain as quoted to us and the package price may increase. The later you book the more likely this is to happen! We have therefore given you the option on the booking form to indicate whether you still want to go if the price increases. You have the option to choose how much extra you are prepared to pay if necessary. The flights will be booked in blocks once we have sufficient numbers. The flights we book include a fee for ATOL to give you protection. However, please make sure you purchase comprehensive travel insurance cover. Accommodation We are staying at the elegant Hilton Milan in the city. It is situated just 200 mt from the central railway station. Our accommodation will be on a bed and breakfast basis. Please note that for the optional four night stay there is quite an increase in price due to the increased rate for week day accommodation. There is a 10% discount on all food orders made at the “Pacific Milano” restaurant and “Cosmopolitan Bar” in the hotel. Transfers As we have tried to give as many departure options as possible for the flights spread over the 3 and 4 night packages the number of passengers per flight will be smaller which makes group transfers by coach very expensive. Therefore for all flights into Malpensa airport the transfers to and from the hotel will be by train and we will have a hostess to take care of each group. However, the Leeds/Bradford flight for the 3 night option flies into Bergamo so the transfer will be by coach which is reflected in the price. The inbuilt cost for this particular transfer is based on a minimum number of 25 people and a supplement will apply if the minimum number is not reached and will be added on to your final invoice. There will be return coach transfers included from the hotel to the two venues where we are singing. Optional Excursions We will be offering a number of optional excursions. Full details of these will be sent to you once we have confirmed numbers for the trip. Booking Form The booking form gives you all the options and all the details. Please read it carefully and make sure you complete the correct section based on your requirements together with the sections which apply to everyone. Please fill in one form per room and note all correspondence will be addressed to the lead name only. Please note all singing applications will also be sent to the lead name. Please note the prices quoted are based on the current exchange rate. Any extra costs due to fluctuations in currency or future fuel surcharges will be passed on to you and a supplement will be charged. Please ensure you supply us with an up to date e-mail address so that we can correspond as much as possible through e-mail for this trip. Please advise us if you are unable to receive e-mails so we can post things out to you. Please note that all monies are strictly non-refundable and the full balance is due whether you or your party travels or not, therefore, please ensure that you have adequate insurance. We will be booking our first allocation of flights and accommodation in January, which are confirmed at the prices printed! Once the first booking is done it can mean price increases on subsequent flight bookings so please hurry! Please fill in the booking form and return it as soon as possible!
