 | | Table Plan! – Wednesday 14th May 2008 | | | Wed 14th May 2008 at 06:17 | Oh what fun I’m having with the table plan for June 14th! It takes me back to the days when we first went the Royal Albert Hall and I had all these names, scores of hotel rooms and dozens of buses and wasn’t quite sure who and what to put where! Now I’ve got all these names and all these tables and I’m faced with the same dilemma! This crowd want to sit near the table with this crowd on!, they want a table for ten and they want a table of 12!, but in the room the tables for 12 are next to each other and the tables of ten are somewhere else or vice versa, and they can’t always be moved due to the room layout, and so the plot thickens! Then when I think I’m making progress the venue tell me they only have 20 tables for 12 and not 30 as per their plan. My heart sinks, I start again and then they ring again and tell me they can do 30!!! So more on this task today!
Julie is still chasing singer stories and has a plea for everyone to make sure we have their up to date e-mail addresses and correct phone numbers. It makes life much simpler in the office if we can contact you on the first attempt!
Molly arrived at lunchtime yesterday with chauffeur Steve (yet another string to his bow!) and Angela and I managed to find her a job straight away, while Kath made her a coffee! We’re having a ‘welcome Molly meal’ tonight so we all get chance to chat to her. The pace in the office leaves little time for idle chatter and she’s not here for long so it gives everyone an opportunity to get to know her!

| | | | Exciting Day – Tuesday 13th May 2008 | | | Tue 13th May 2008 at 08:19 | We have an exciting addition to our Sing Live family here in the UK today. Molly Miles from Sing Live USA, the daughter of Jeri and Kevin who run Sing Live USA is joining us for seven weeks! Molly will be working here in the office and living with me. She will be working on the ball, a huge relief for Laraine and I to have some much needed help and of course getting to grips with all that goes on in the main office. I feel very honoured that Jeri and Kevin have entrusted me with their daughter and I know we’re going to have a great time. I’ve never had my own personal assistant since we started Sing Live, I always had to share Laraine with John. Although I have had the luxury of Laraine all to myself for the past few months since John has been in USA, and once she’d had her two weeks of retirement!
Michael did a great job in the kitchen yesterday, we now have a great meal ready and waiting for all of us tomorrow night, plus lots of extra for my freezer. My own personal chef, what a treat!
Why is it so cold this morning, just when everyone in the office had found their summer clothes and we had decided summer was here, it turns cold again. We’ve turned the heating off, so there’ll be no hope of me keeping warm once Mr. Fresh Air gets in later!

| | | | Lovely Weather – Monday 12th May 2008 | | | Mon 12th May 2008 at 08:06 | What fabulous weather all weekend! There’s something very satisfying about putting your washing on the line and knowing it will be ready in next to no time! However, the down side is mowing your lawn and knowing it will be ready to be cut again in next to no time! The stripes and the smell of freshly cut grass make up for it though! So, as you can tell I’ve been catching up on chores!
I am organising meetings for the foundation today and also sorting out the printing of the raffle tickets to kick start the fund raising, so it’s slowly taking shape.
Michael is coming in today, and instead of scanning, he’s going to be cooking! On Wednesday night the girls in the office are coming to my house for a meal, so Michael is our chef!
The Baltic cruise music packs went out on Friday, so look out for those, it will soon be here! Would you believe it’s time for me to start working on next year’s cruise? We have already picked our destination, I just have a lot of work to do to put it together, and I need to start early to make sure we have the space held on the ship! It’s going to be a special one to mark the end of our tenth anniversary year!

| | | | Friday Already! – Friday 9th May 2008 | | | Fri 9th May 2008 at 06:06 | I knew this short week would catch me out! I can’t believe it’s Friday already!
It’s a busy Sing Live weekend with auditions in Merseyside tomorrow, and big rehearsals in Central, Merseyside and Northern Ireland on Sunday. When do we get that Sing Live helicopter?!
It’s my last day for photos today (although I have said that before!). Whatever, I am missing after today I will put down to experience and try and make sure we always have a camera at every event, but more than that make sure that we use the camera if Toni and Tim aren’t there!
Gary popped in yesterday and I showed him some of the merchandise samples, he put in an order straight away, so that was good to know that we’re on the right tracks!
Julie is collecting messages for our tenth anniversary concert brochure, she has put a note on the news ticker and Angela has put a note on about two cabins available on the forthcoming cruises, one for the Baltic and one for the Caribbean. If you’re interested in either cruise please let us know straight away as we only have them for a couple of days!
I got a text from Kath last night, she had seen me out jogging with my daughter, and I thought it was dark and no-one would see us! I have to say rowing has made my daughter a lot fitter than I am, I have some serious catching up to do!

| | | | A Few Thank Yous! – Thursday 8th May 2008 | | | Thu 8th May 2008 at 06:34 | Thank you for the responses to my further plea for photographs, I’m hoping to put this task to bed by the end of the week. Only about six weeks later than I’d hoped!
Thank you also to the ‘alto mafia’ from Sing Live Northern for their generous donation of a case of wine and glasses for the raffle, it’s a good job it didn’t arrive in my office yesterday, I think I might have been tempted to open it! One or two upsets yesterday which thwarted my progress, so despite a sunny start at 6 am the day was not quite so sunny in my office by 9 am! Never mind today’s a new day and I have lots to tackle!
One more thank you – and that’s to a further two volunteer sewing ladies! Laraine is away this week, so Steve has found himself in charge of cutting material! Great to know he has such diverse skills!
Sabine posted the West Midlands applications yesterday, and she’s going to help me with the photo listings this morning. In fact she was the only member of staff I really saw yesterday, apart from a very brief word with Kath and Julie I didn’t venture out of my office! The only time I left my desk to get some paper supplies I returned to a cup of tea sitting waiting for me. What great staff I have!
